Summary

Billboard Access is a marketplace that allows users to offer, sell, and buy ‘out of home’ media in a variety of pricing formats and locations. The actual contract for sale is directly between the seller and buyer. BBA is not a traditional auctioneer.

My design team was brought onboard to establish a web-based platform that adhered to the needs of billboards buyers, owners, and admin.

Solution

We will provide buyers with both a map and list view of all avail billboards, including features of filters and search options.

Owners will be able to list endless billboards with the ability to input all necessary details for a complete transaction. Payments will also be covered within the platform.

Problem

Buyers need a way to view available billboards and rent with appropriate parameters and date commitments that suit their individual needs.

Owners need the ability to list their inventory, communicate with interested buyers, and receive payments.

My role

I acted as a UX consultant between the stakeholder and our companies offshore team in India. I would conduct stakeholder interviews, collect feedback, and consolidate usability testing results into digestible redlines and design documentation.

It was valuable learning how to coordinate with the offshore team in an effective way through detailed documentation. I took evening calls with the team twice a week to go over and reiterate design details. This was a great practice for my future within People Tech Group, where I frequently had evening to late night calls with offshore. The struggle to work through the communication and other difficulties with the offshore developers resulted in compromised final designs within Billboards Access, however it set up a learning curve for the collaboration between onsite and offshore.
